A mental visualization of Duck Hunt I once had went like this:

:bulletblue: Instead of ducks, there are dragons (the wyvern-styled type, of course), with the same color scheme and behavioral patterns, but they also taunt you in a more aggressive manner
:bulletgreen: Since dragons are harder game to bring down, the dog is in a muscled anthro form, wearing hunter's garb, and carrying heavier firepower, serving as heavy support
:bulletpink: Instead of the traditional shotgun, you've got a high-powered sniper rifle, with the option of looking through the scope or not
:bulletred: The scoring's a little more advanced; including areas where the "one-hit kill" principle applies, otherwise, the shot only cripples the target
